Easy Living

The real easy button? That would be hard work.

Have you ever done something that just seemed too easy? Like closing a deal on the first call? Or even getting a meeting with the decision maker on the first call, and then an agreement to move forward?

I think we feel like the things we do and accomplish are of less value if we don’t struggle. It has to have been a battle, or difficult to feel real. That’s how I am. I feel like I have cheated, if I accomplish something with out a battle. I feel like since it was a struggle in the past, it always has to be a struggle. Like a blog post that just seems to write itself. I’m still new to this, but I’ve had a couple of those. And, I feel they are terrible when I hit publish. Well, not terrible, but not great. Those have been the posts that have received the most positive feedback. Sometimes, you just have to trust the practice. It’s only happened a couple of times so far, at least on the ones I have hit publish. I need to summon the courage on a few that are still sitting there, rewritten a couple of times already.

The truth is that easy is usually the result of all the hard work. I find that my best customers, are the easiest to work with. I bet they will say it’s mutual. Some things just appear easy because you don’t see all of the hard work and practice that went into making easy happen. Easy comes from doing the stuff that’s not easy. The stuff most don’t want to do.

Some would call it luck. Lucky people are lucky because they make their own good luck! It’s easy to be lucky when you work hard, and smart. Work and practice combined with the confidence gained from our past successes.

It’s not what you have been given, it’s what you do with what you have been given! That is what we will all be accountable for in the end.

How hard do you work to live easy?
